The origin of DryMasq

It began with a visit to my dental hygienist.

After the treatment, my face was completely covered with some kind of powder. It didn’t feel nice at all. “It’s nothing dangerous. It’s only salt” , said my hygienist. I had to wash my face after the treatment. “But what do your patients say about this”, I asked?

“Well, recently I had a woman who was going to a big party after the treatment. She was absolutely furious when she had to wash her make-up off”.

“So I am not the only patient who’s complained about this?”

“No, even men, because it gets stuck in their beards.”

There was obviously a problem to solve here.

I asked hygienists about it in a survey and the result is presented in the infographic.

89% said that their patients disliked splatter on the face. The result was clear. There was a need for facial protection for the patient. The work began.

How it works

DryMasq is a disposable protection for your patient’s face during treatments such as Air Flow. Instead of bulky goggles or insufficient paper napkins, DryMasq covers the entire face at once. The protection keeps the patient away from the dash and splash making the entire treatment easier for both of you.

The protection has a thin structure and rests lightly over the face. The transparent material, made of polypropylene, is water-repellant and easy for the patient to both breathe and see through. With differently sized slits for the ears, you can easily adjust it to the patient’s face.

Bacteria, powder and fluids, which should be kept away from the eyes and face, are no longer a threat. DryMasq allows you and patient to feel secure throughout the treatment. After the visit, patients can resume their day with impeccable make-up and a fresh feeling in the mouth and mind.
